Employer Interview Questions
By Steve Casio
You need this job. You applied for it and they answered. They gave you an interview date. You arrive on time. Everything seems to be going smooth, until, the questioning begins... You are faced with some tough questions, questions you didn't think off. You say to yourself "what can they determine by asking me what type of tree would I choose to be". You don't understand, you actually don't know what would be a right answer. Suddenly you feel your hands shaking, your heart pumping faster, and you begin to sweat. When the interview is over you feel ashamed, embarrassed, and desperate. You know it was not a good interview. For many, this story is a reality. This is what happens when you don't get prepared for your interview. Some people think that by practicing some commonly employer interview questions they are going to do good in the interview. But what about the deep employer interview questions, the questions that require: * logical answers for situations happening right now in the employer's company. * you to truly know yourself. * your vision of yourself in the future. * you to think in an abstract way. I always remember a question I was asked that took me by surprise. It was about a situation going on in the company at the time. I was presented with three options and I had to chose one and explain why. I failed the question and didn't get the job. If I had only known the company's goals I'm sure I would have chosen the correct option. That is why being prepared is a crucial part of the interview process. We can compare it to a test a teacher gives in a school. The students that study for the test have a better chance of getting a good grade than the ones that don't study. Exactly the same happens with job interviews. The students don't know what questions they are going to be asked, but they do have a guide, they are given study material; likewise you don't know what employer interview questions you are going to be asked but you can get prepared by making some research about the company, its policies, mission, goals, and culture.
